Rose, known professionally as Rose (stylized Rose) and born Roseanne Park, is a singer and a member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink. One of the most prominent figures in K-pop, she rose to international fame as part of the group before launching a successful solo career, and she is recognized for her distinctive vocal tone and her crossover appeal in Western pop markets.

Early life

She was born on February 11, 1997, in Auckland, New Zealand, and was raised in Melbourne, Australia, in a Korean family. She grew up singing and learning music, and as a teenager she auditioned for the South Korean entertainment company YG Entertainment. After being selected, she relocated to South Korea to train as a recording artist, spending several years in the company's trainee system before debuting.

Career

Rose debuted as a member of Blackpink in 2016, alongside Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa.
