Don Lemon

Don Lemon is an American journalist and television personality best known for his long tenure as a primetime anchor at CNN, where he became one of the network's most recognizable faces during more than fifteen years on air. He hosted the late-night program CNN Tonight and, in his final years at the network, co-anchored its morning show, building a reputation as an outspoken interviewer who frequently inserted his own commentary into coverage of politics, race and current events.

Early life

Lemon was born on March 1, 1966, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and grew up in the American South. He studied broadcast journalism, earning a degree from Brooklyn College after attending Louisiana State University. He began his career in local television, working at stations in markets including Birmingham, Alabama; St. Louis, Missouri; Philadelphia; and Chicago, where he reported and anchored the news.
