Early life

Calvin Harris was born Adam Richard Wiles on January 17, 1984, in Dumfries, Scotland. He began producing music at home as a teenager, working with relatively basic equipment, and held various jobs while developing his craft. He uploaded early tracks online, which helped attract industry attention and led to a recording contract.

Career

Harris released his debut album in the late 2000s, initially performing as a singer as well as a producer. His early singles established him in the UK dance-pop scene.
