Early life

Statham was born on 26 July 1967 in Shirebrook, Derbyshire, England. Before acting, he was a competitive diver and represented England at international level, including at the Commonwealth Games. Career

Statham's acting career began when director Guy Ritchie cast him in the crime comedy Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in the late 1990s.
