Diego Luna

Diego Luna is a Mexican actor, director, and producer who has worked extensively in both Mexican and international cinema. He achieved early acclaim in Latin American film and later reached a global audience through his work in the Star Wars franchise.

Early life

Luna was born on December 29, 1979, in Mexico. He grew up in a creative environment connected to the theater; his father worked as a set and production designer. Luna began acting as a child, appearing in television and stage productions in Mexico, and he formed a long-standing friendship and creative partnership with fellow actor Gael Garcia Bernal during his early years in the industry.

Career

Luna gained international recognition with the Mexican road film "Y Tu Mama Tambien" (2001), directed by Alfonso Cuaron, which he starred in alongside Gael Garcia Bernal. The film's success opened opportunities in international cinema, and Luna went on to appear in a range of films across Hollywood and Latin American productions, including roles in "Milk," "Rudo y Cursi," and "The Terminal," among others.
