Ayo Edebiri is an American actress, comedian and writer who rose to prominence for her role in the television series The Bear. Early life
Ayo Edebiri was born on October 3, 1995, in Boston, Massachusetts. She has described growing up as an only child in a family with West African and Caribbean heritage. She attended New York University, where she initially pursued teaching before shifting toward comedy and performance. While in New York she became involved in stand-up and improv, building experience in the city's comedy scene that shaped her early career.
Career
Edebiri began working as a comedian and comedy writer, contributing to television projects and animated series, including writing for the animated comedy Big Mouth, in which she also later took on a voice role.
