There's a quiet war playing out on TikTok, and Taylor Swift's catalog is right in the middle of it. Song by song, track by track, her music keeps getting pulled from posts tied to President Donald Trump — and the fandom has noticed every single removal.

The 'August' Incident That Started It All

Earlier this week, Team Trump — the official campaign account that built up 14 million followers during the 2024 presidential race and has kept posting ever since — shared an edited clip of Donald and Melania Trump watching a fireworks display. The soundtrack? Swift's dreamy Folklore deep cut "August." The caption sarcastically declared they were "sure" Swift would be thrilled about the unauthorized use.

She was not. By Friday, August 7th, the audio had vanished, replaced by a blunt "This sound isn't available" notice. The comments section erupted immediately — fans celebrated the silent screen as a small but satisfying victory, with one user hailing Swift as a queen for clocking the account and pulling the track.

A Pattern, Not a One-Off

According to Billboard, "August" is far from the only casualty. A Team Trump post from November featuring Swift's 2025 hit "Father Figure" is also now audio-free. On top of that, the White House's own official TikTok account posted a video set to Swift's "The Fate of Ophelia" — also from 2025 — and that sound has since disappeared too.

Three songs, three accounts, three removals. Whether Swift's team is filing copyright claims behind the scenes or TikTok's licensing system is doing the work automatically, the result is the same: the music isn't staying.

Team Trump Fires Back With 'Red'

The Team Trump account didn't take the removals quietly. In a move designed to provoke, the account posted a new video leaning into the visual language of Swift's 2012 Red era — complete with mock cover art featuring Trump's profile photoshopped over the album's iconic lettering and a fake "Red (Trump's Version)" playlist label. The caption asked whether fans knew Swift had written "a whole album about the color of the Republican Party."

The troll attempt was bold, if nothing else. Though as of publication, that post was also running without sound.

A Feud With Deep Roots

None of this exists in a vacuum. Trump has taken public aim at Swift since 2018, and the tension hit a new peak when she endorsed Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 election. Trump responded on Truth Social with a blunt "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT" post that left little room for diplomatic interpretation.

The friction didn't stop at the ballot box. After Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's star-studded July 4th wedding turned New York City into a full-blown cultural moment, the White House joined in with a social media post featuring an altered Madison Square Garden marquee digitally changed to read "Trump Is Your President" — a swipe at the couple's celebration venue.
