Shakira's Madrid Concert Shatters Livestream Records with Dua Lipa

Shakira just made waves in the music landscape with her monumental concert in Madrid, establishing herself as a trailblazer for female artists. On October 3rd, she pulled off a groundbreaking feat by achieving the highest viewership for a livestream performance by a female artist on Amazon Music.

A Night to Remember

The excitement was palpable as fans filled the newly constructed Shakira Stadium, a temporary venue designed specifically for her 12-date residency in the heart of Madrid. The vibrant atmosphere pulsed with energy as Shakira lit up the stage, delivering a powerhouse set that traversed her illustrious three-decade career in Latin music.

Shakira's performance was more than just a string of hits; it was an experience that brought fans together, both in the venue and watching online. The livestream was accessible on platforms like Amazon Music, Prime Video, and Twitch, ensuring that more than 50,000 fans at the stadium were joined by thousands more from the comfort of their homes.

Special Guests and Heartfelt Duets

The evening reached new heights when Shakira surprised everyone with a special guest appearance from Dua Lipa. Their duet on the acoustic rendition of “Antología,” a beloved track from Shakira’s classic 1997 album _Pies Descalzos_, stopped the world in its tracks. Shakira expressed how fulfilling this moment was, calling it "what this tour was missing." It was a sentiment that resonated deeply with fans, adding an intimate layer to the concert.

Dua Lipa echoed that sentiment on Instagram, sharing her gratitude for the experience and highlighting the unity they felt with the audience. “I felt that you, me, and the audience were one,” she wrote in Spanish, reinforcing the strong connection that live music fosters.

A Vision for Female Artists

Amazon Music embraced the significance of this event as part of their 2026 Women Shaping Latin Music campaign, emphasizing the importance of female voices in the industry. By spotlighting artists like Shakira, they are not only celebrating talent but also encouraging future generations of women in music.

As her residency unfolds, Shakira continues to captivate audiences with her powerful performances. Phrases like Dai Dai have resonated in recent hits, but this concert significantly marked a step into uncharted territory for live-stream experiences.

Already, fans are buzzing about her upcoming dates, and many are reminiscing about the exhilaration experienced at the kick-off of her U.S. tour in L.A. with shows that were just as electrifying, as detailed in our piece on her tour opening here.
