At just 13, North West is already a seasoned performer with big dreams — and a surprisingly relatable wish to work a regular shift at Starbucks.

North West Wants a Starbucks Job — and a Music Career to Match

Kim Kardashian's eldest daughter is proving she's every bit as ambitious as her famous family — with a refreshingly grounded twist. North West, 13, opened up about her music journey, her daily rehearsal grind, and yes, her plans to pull espresso shots, in a candid new interview for Dazed magazine's autumn 2026 issue.

Music Is the Mission

North made it crystal clear in the Dazed sit-down, reported by Just Jared, that pursuing music is non-negotiable for her. When asked about the worst advice she's ever received, she didn't hesitate: being told to wait before launching her career. "To start my career later. It's like, nah, this is my hobby, this is what I like to do, this is what I wanna do with my life," she said.

For North, music isn't something she stumbled into because of her last name — it's a genuine passion that shapes her entire day. She described her ideal schedule as heading straight from rehearsal to the studio, with a big live show thrown in whenever possible. "I don't like to rest a lot," she admitted. "I like to get stuff done."

From the Stage to the Studio

North already has real performance experience under her belt. She made her first solo festival appearance at Summer Smash in June, describing the moment as "fun, relieving and exciting." Before heading onstage, she prays — a pre-show ritual that keeps her grounded.

She dropped her six-song debut EP, N0rth4evr, while she was still just 12 years old, and has since released a horror-themed music video for her track "Aishite." She also surprised fans with a stage appearance alongside Molly Santana back in May. Although the two had plans to tour together, those dates were unfortunately canceled just days before the first show was set to kick off.

In terms of artistic inspiration, North cited Lil Uzi Vert's Pink Tape as a key influence on her EP and named them as one of her dream collaborators — a pretty bold and self-aware musical taste for a teenager. She also revealed that her signature blue hair was inspired by the iconic virtual pop star Hatsune Miku, and that she turns to TikTok and Pinterest for all things hair and nail inspo.

The Starbucks Dream Is Very Real

Here's where things get wonderfully relatable. Despite her burgeoning pop career, North West wants a regular job. Specifically? She wants to work at Starbucks. "I wanna work at, like, Starbucks next year. I think I can next year 'cause I'm gonna be 14, so… I think I can. I want to have a regular job, I guess," she said with the kind of earnest energy only a teenager can pull off.

She also shared that basketball was once on her radar as a potential path, but she's since traded in that dream for the microphone — though apparently not for the coffee bar just yet.

And in what might be the most endearing moment of the whole interview, North admitted she hopes to "get better at interviews" — proof that even kids raised in the spotlight are still figuring things out, one step at a time.

Family Support All Around

North isn't doing this alone. Her father Ye and his wife Bianca Censori both showed up to support her at the N0rth4evr pop-up event earlier this year, and [Kim Kardashian]((/article/kim-kardashian-enjoys-joyful-lake-getaway-with-family-and-lewis-hamilton)) has consistently been in her corner as she navigates this exciting new chapter. It's the kind of wholesome family backing that makes North's story all the more compelling to watch unfold.

The Dazed autumn 2026 issue featuring North's full interview hits stands on September 10.
