Kim Kardashian Is Ready for a DWTS Comeback — With the Whole Family

Kim Kardashian is open to returning to Dancing With the Stars, and she's already pitched a wild Kardashian-Jenner family season to her siblings.

Kim Kardashian has officially caught the dancing bug again — or at least, she's ready to conquer the fears that stopped her the first time around. During a recent late-night appearance, the mogul and reality icon revealed she'd happily step back onto the Dancing With the Stars ballroom floor, and she's even dreaming up a full family takeover.
A Traumatic First Time on the Dance Floor
Way back in 2008, a 27-year-old Kim Kardashian laced up her heels for DWTS Season 7, partnered with pro dancer Mark Ballas. The experience, however, was far from glamorous behind the scenes. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kardashian opened up during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, admitting she spent most nights crying in her trailer and secretly hoping to be eliminated. She finished in 11th place — a fact Kimmel cheekily pointed out was a shorter run than show staffer Guillermo Rodriguez, who was just sent home.
"It was so hard for me," she told Kimmel, describing how her shyness completely blocked her from truly enjoying the competition. In fact, she says the experience left such a lasting mark on her that she hasn't danced since — calling herself "traumatized for life" by the whole ordeal.
A Poker Night Sparked a Big Idea
The conversation took a delightful turn when Kimmel played back footage of Kim's infamous Mambo to "I Like Big Butts" — and it turns out she'd actually seen it pretty recently under the most relatable circumstances. At a family poker night about three weeks ago, sister Kylie Jenner projected the clip onto a big movie screen for the whole room. (Kim did note, with some relief, that the footage is old enough to be pixelated — no HD version exists on YouTube.)
Rather than cringe and retreat, though, Kim stood up, channeled some of her old moves, and found herself wishing she had the confidence she carries today. That spontaneous moment lit a spark — and by the end of the night, she'd pitched a bold idea to her sisters: a full Kardashian-Jenner season of Dancing With the Stars, with the whole family competing against each other.
"We all loved it. We all were like, 'Yes, let's do it,'" she shared enthusiastically, though she acknowledged she wasn't sure whether the show would ever go that route.
Kim Kardashian enjoys quality time with her inner circle whenever she can, so a little friendly competition with her siblings honestly sounds right on brand.
Rob Kardashian Set the Bar High
Part of what fuels Kim's enthusiasm is watching what her brother Rob Kardashian managed to pull off when he competed on Season 13 in 2011. Partnered with Cheryl Burke, Rob made it all the way to second place — narrowly missing the mirrorball trophy behind winner J.R. Martinez. That near-victory clearly left an impression on the family.
"My brother was so good. I would just want us all back," Kim said, before adding the magic words: "I'd do it. I'd do it." Kimmel's response? A confident "They would definitely bring you back" — and honestly, who could argue with that?
Could a Kardashian All-Stars Season Actually Happen?
DWTS has only pulled off one full All-Stars season in its 35-season history — Season 15 back in 2012, which was won by Melissa Rycroft. So while an all-Kardashian-Jenner lineup would be unprecedented, it's the kind of ratings gold that networks dream about.
Kim is clearly in a bolder headspace these days — from celebrating her latest business ventures to navigating life's biggest moments with grace. And Kylie Jenner, who literally started this whole DWTS conversation with that poker night screening, seems just as game for the chaos.
Whether the ballroom dream becomes reality or stays a fun family fantasy, one thing is clear: Kim Kardashian at her most confident self would be a very different competitor than the shy 27-year-old who cried in her trailer back in 2008. We'd tune in for that redemption arc in a heartbeat.
