Druski Turns Up the Heat as First-Time SNL Host and Musical Guest

Get ready for a night of laughs and music as Druski makes his Saturday Night Live debut as host this weekend. A master of comedy and entertainer extraordinaire, Druski is set to follow in the footsteps of stars like Olivia Rodrigo and Harry Styles, who also hosted and performed on the iconic show.

Musical Guest Dilemma

In a recent promo for SNL, Druski confidently introduced himself while mixing it up with cast member Sarah Sherman and the beloved rock band The Strokes. "Hi, I’m Druski, and I’ll be the host and musical guest on SNL this week!” he announced, exuding undeniable charm.

But in a playful twist, Sherman reminded him, “Druski, we already have a musical guest — The Strokes.” With a wave and a friendly greeting from Fabrizio Moretti, it became clear that Druski might not be able to steal the thunder of the established band this time around.

Guitar Hero Moments

Can Druski really jam with The Strokes? With a wink toward the audience, he proclaimed, “Can they do this?” before breaking out into an electric guitar solo that was clearly for the cameras. The band’s frontman, Julian Casablancas, had to admit, “Wow, that’s really great! But yes, yes we can.”

The comical back-and-forth continued to unfold as Druski engaged with The Strokes, showcasing his infectious persona while trying to convince the cast and crew that he could handle both hosting duties and musical performances. To kick things off, he delivered some air guitar vibes and asked, “That’s you guys, right?” — which Moretti politely corrected.

SNL Experience and Milestones

This SNL episode marks an exciting milestone for Druski, who has been making waves in the comedy scene. Known not only for his viral skits but also his recent endeavors in film and hosting at various events, including his spotlight at the BET Awards, Druski is no stranger to capturing audiences' hearts.

As for The Strokes, they’re set to rock the stage for the fourth time. They first graced the SNL stage back in January 2002, returning for memorable performances in 2006 and 2011. Their latest album, Reality Awaits, debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 and No. 5 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, so fans can definitely expect some fresh tunes!
